YogaPalooza ~ That’s A Wrap (Almost)

YogaPalooza, our annual summer session on the mat, has seen some changes over the past 12 years. The classes have changed and, well, we have, too.

But, at its heart, YogaPalooza’s theme has always stayed the same – take time to try something different. A different pose, a different style, a different intention.

YogaPalooza is about honoring the spirit that gives you a classic Downward Dog pose and then turns it into a wondrously playful “Splashy Dog.”  It’s a reminder that Yoga can be whatever you need it to be, whenever.

But, just like the summer that surrounds it, this YogaPalooza – our dozenth! – has had its moment in the sun. It’s time to close it up for the year.

Our last two YogaPalooza classes are this week – Monday, August 19 and Wednesday, August 21.

(And, then we will be off until Wednesday, September 4 when the Fall Session will begin.)

Thank you to Carrie, Christina, and Patricia who brought their special YogaPalooza classes to us this summer. They are gifted and spirited instructors and I’m so happy that they are part of the Peaceful Hands family.

Thank you to the four people who – as of today, anyway 😊  – attended every single YogaPalooza class and the two people who missed only one class. Let’s see if they can make it to Wednesday.  (This 20-class session was the biggest ever. It was a demanding schedule. And, there were some beautiful summer evenings when I thought, “What if no one comes to class,” and then, there you were. You are my heroes!)

Thank you to each of you who came to one class, two classes … 20 classes.

You have made our Peaceful Hands studio a home, our classes a family.

Peaceful Hands was never meant to be a Yoga studio forged out of extreme poses, competition, fancy lighting, or $100 Yoga pants. It was just meant to be a home for each of us to care for ourselves – body, mind, and spirit – without judgment.

That you choose to spend one or two evenings a week unrolling your mat with me, is something I am profoundly grateful for. You inspire me. Your support of our studio – and each other – makes my heart smile as widely as a heart possibly can.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Two classes left. Time to squeeze the last little bit out of our Summer of Yoga!

HEART & SOUL ~ Monday, August 19.

You put your heart and soul into your Yoga practice. I know this is true, because I watch you do it. I watch you navigate aches and pains of a body that hurts some days (or most days). I watch you navigate the stresses and challenges of life and work. I watch you navigate traffic and bad weather and meetings that run late in order to get to class on time. And, still there you are … heading up the steps, dropping your shoes at the door, and unrolling your mat. You are awesome!

This class is to nourish and nurture your ever-loving, ever-giving, and ever-beating heart.

CH-CH-CHANGES ~ Wednesday, August 21.

We’ll wrap up our dozenth YogaPalooza with a simple class. A look back at the summer … a look ahead to where our Yoga might take us next. Yoga is about transformation … it’s about acknowledging and embracing the changes within us and letting Yoga help guide the way.

Monday & Wednesday, 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Then, we’ll be off until the Wednesday after Labor Day. Our 8-week Fall Sesh’ will begin Wednesday, September 4. I’ll keep you posted.

And, as always, if you have a friend who might benefit from Yoga … please invite them to join us. This fall session would be a perfect introduction.

    Thank you for sharing your mat with me. Yoga is the best things I’ve done since my retirement. I feel better after each session! It is permanently on my calendar.
