As always, the Holiday Session will provide a more nurturing and quieting practice, with emphasis on kindling the heart’s fire, warming the bones, and taking time to step away from the stress of our daily world to reset and restore.

Full Session: $75 (take as many of my Monday/Wednesday classes as you like!)

Holiday Meditation Practices for 2016

I never forget to recharge my phone. As soon as that battery light turns yellow, I plug it right into the charger.

We remember to recharge all kinds of things. Laptops, iPads, remote controls, flashlights, even toothbrushes.

But, sometimes we forget to recharge ourselves.

Why not carve out a tiny bit of recharge time?

I’m delighted to offer three Holiday Meditations at Peaceful Hands Yoga Studio in Orange this season.

Our one-hour practice will include gentle stretching, followed by guided, walking, and silent meditation in an encouraging and nurturing environment. Even if you’ve never sat in dedicated quiet before, you will enjoy bountiful benefits for the body and a more peaceful mind.

Our practice is in the mindfulness tradition and is gently structured so that you may explore different meditation methods. The meditations come in easy-to-follow segments.

Whether you are a beginner or have your own mindfulness practice, you will find there is a joyful and refreshing energy that comes when we practice together.

We all face the same difficulties — a busy mind, the challenge of staying present, making time for quiet. But, when we join together, it seems much easier to touch that peace that is within each of us.

Pillows, bolsters, and chairs are provided. Or, bring your own favorite sitting pillow.

Our Holiday Meditation practices are offered on a “donation” basis. Your gift supports expenses at the studio. Thank you for your kindness.

Here’s your Holiday Update at Peaceful Hands Yoga in Orange …

First … THANK YOU! Your kindness and generosity to the Wildlife Center of Virginia and our annual Yoga Class and Open House benefit was amazing!  Randy’s Outback was filled with supplies and food and donations after Saturday’s event. I know a few people would like to bring things this week (just drop off at Yoga class or at my massage studio) so I’ll have a grand total of what we raised for you next week. (Spoiler Alert: we raised more than ever this year!)

Your kindness makes my heart smile wide!  THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

(And, additional thanks to Dr. Beier for the deee-licious cheesecake, Rod Sedwick for the yummy brownies and for loaning us the tables, Mark Ward for the music … “Heart of Gold” live in the Yoga studio on Saturday, how cool is that!, and Lacy Kegley at the Wildlife Center who made up special brochures just for our event!)

YOGA … Our Holiday Yoga session ends this week.  Classes are Monday and Wednesday at 4:30 and 6:00 p.m.  It’s a gentle class (I promise!) and will help balance your energy for the busy weeks ahead.

After that, Yoga classes will be on holiday break until New Year’s Eve.

MEDITATION … The second in our Holiday Meditation Practice series is this Sunday, December 20 at 4:00 p.m.  I hope you will join us, a little quiet does the mind, body, and heart good.  (No need to know “how” to meditate or to have been to the first practice to come to this one.)  For more info and the schedule click here.

STOCKING STUFFERS GALORE … I always have a few sweet stocking stuffers available at the Yoga and massage studios for little holiday gifts. Pure room/pillow mists, my own hand-blended Oil of Tranquility, beautiful hand-made ornaments (made by a Fair Trade cooperative of women in India from recycled cotton fabric), music, and more. Come early to class to find a nice gift for a friend … or for you!  (cash/check only, please.)

NEW YEAR’S … We will have our annual morning classes on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day (9:30 a.m.) … and then the new 2016 session will begin on Monday, January 4.  More details on the new session — and how to get the New Year’s Eve and Day classes FREE — will be posted next week.
