Meditation Practice on Sunday, February 3

Join me this Sunday, February 3, for a mindfulness meditation practice at Peaceful Hands Yoga.

Tibetan New Year – Losar – begins in early February, so we will focus our meditation practice on refreshing and re-vitalizing for the year ahead.

This year ushers in the energy of the earth pig – a gentler, more grounded energy than this past year’s fiery “fire dog.”  So, perhaps, things will slow down a bit for us, perhaps things will get less chaotic.  And, that’s not a bad energy to focus our practice on. Continue reading

Meditation Practice On Sunday, January 6

There is a beautiful energy that fills a room whenever people sit in quiet together. You can just feel it sparkle all around and through you.

But, that’s not all. There are also profound and proven health benefits, too.

Stress reduction. Improved heart health and blood pressure. Hormonal balance that can improve sleep and metabolism (even better than dieting!).  And, brain boosting through improved mental clarity, memory (even helping ward off age-related “brain fog”), and better concentration.

Sounds nice, doesn’t it? Continue reading

Holiday Meditation Practices for 2016

Quiet

I never forget to recharge my phone. As soon as that battery light turns yellow, I plug it right into the charger.

We remember to recharge all kinds of things. Laptops, iPads, remote controls, flashlights, even toothbrushes.

But, sometimes we forget to recharge ourselves.

Why not carve out a tiny bit of recharge time?

I’m delighted to offer three Holiday Meditations at Peaceful Hands Yoga Studio in Orange this season.

I’ll be even more delighted if you will join me.

Come to one or, even better, come to all three.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 27 at 4:00 p.m. ~ Thanksgiving: Gratitude & Loving Kindness Practice

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 18 at 4:00 p.m. ~ Christmas & Winter Solstice: Cultivating a Peaceful Spirit

SUNDAY, JANUARY 1 at 4:00 p.m. ~ New Year’s Promise: The Beauty of the Present Moment

Peaceful Hands Yoga Studio

228 Warren Street in Orange, Virginia

Our one-hour practice will include gentle stretching, followed by guided, walking, and silent meditation in an encouraging and nurturing environment. Even if you’ve never sat in dedicated quiet before, you will enjoy bountiful benefits for the body and a more peaceful mind.

Our practice is in the mindfulness tradition and is gently structured so that you may explore different meditation methods. The meditations come in easy-to-follow segments.

Whether you are a beginner or have your own mindfulness practice, you will find there is a joyful and refreshing energy that comes when we practice together.

We all face the same difficulties — a busy mind, the challenge of staying present, making time for quiet. But, when we join together, it seems much easier to touch that peace that is within each of us.

Pillows, bolsters, and chairs are provided. Or, bring your own favorite sitting pillow.

Our Holiday Meditation practices are offered on a “donation” basis. Your gift supports expenses at the studio. Thank you for your kindness.

If you have questions, would like more information, or would like to let me know you’re coming, you can reach me at jackie@peacefulhands.com or 540.672.9528.

(Don’t forget … our five-week Holiday Yoga session begins Monday, November 7.  And, mark your calendar — our annual Wildlife Center of Virginia Yoga Class and Open House will be on Saturday, December 10. More on that coming soon!)

Holiday Meditation Sessions ~ Find The Peace Within

Quiet

I never forget to recharge my phone. The battery light turns yellow and right into the wall it goes. But, sometimes I’m not so good about recharging myself. (And, I ought to know better.)

Don’t let the holidays wear you down … make a tiny bit of time for your own recharging and refreshing.

I’m delighted to offer three Holiday Meditations at Peaceful Hands Yoga Studio in Orange this season.

I’ll be even more delighted if you will join me.

Each practice will explore a different mindfulness and meditation technique. Come to one or, even better, come to all three. Your heart will thank you.
